We worked hard this week on Math and Literacy assessments.
We are almost finished! I plan to finish them up this coming week and then we look forward to spending the remainder of the
school year reviewing and extending our learning in all areas of the
curriculum.
During literacy we also presented our Reader's Theaters this week. Each group presented their story to the rest of the class. They did a fantastic job!!! Their was such nice expression from each of the children and even some movement involved in the presentations. We hope to be able to do one more that we will start next week.
We also look forward to the rescheduled Jog-a-thon on Tuesday of this
coming week. A reminder to send your children to school that day
dressed appropriately, already sun screened and with a water bottle.
With any luck this wet weather will move out of the area by then.
Unfortunately our School Outreach visit from Shelburne Farms has had to
be cancelled due to the Jog-a-thon rescheduling. We are working with
Shelburne Farms to try to find an alternative date for this, however
they are pretty booked at this time of year and it may not be possible.
Next week we will finish up our Science Unit about pollination by using
the knowledge we have gained through this unit to act as agricultural
engineers and create our own hand pollinators.
Next week we will also be participating in a Zumba class on Wednesday. Please have your child wear comfortable clothing and sneakers for this event. It should be a lot of fun!
I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend,
Nancy
