Week of February 15th

Hello all-

We had a busy, fun week before break!

Highlights of the week included: 

  • Wrapping up our narrative writing unit with a small publishing party this morning. 
  • Learning about sound in Hands on Nature. 
  • Continuing our read aloud "BFG".
  • Wrapping up our math unit on place value up to 1000. 
  • Traveling to different parts of the world via Google Earth, Telling Time Bingo (ask your child who won), and adding 2-digit numbers into our bank using base ten pieces in Number Corner.
  • Preparing for Read Across America Day (March 2) by making hats and a poster to share with the school. 
I hope you all have a fantastic week- we're looking forward to a great stretch of learning when we get back. Just a gentle reminder that teachers have inservice on Monday, February 29th and students start again on Tuesday, March 1.
